MICKY & THE MOTORCARS - BLOG

WOW, I just realized it's been a long time since the old blog had an update, where to start. Well, in December we did our first tour in Germany, consisting of six shows. We missed our first one due to bad weather but it worked out ok because we got stuck in Amsterdam for the night. Let's just say it’s a pretty fun place to be stranded for our first night in Europe. After Amsterdam, we took a train to Hamburg where we hooked up with our German tour manager Thomas. He drove us to the rest of the shows; Duisburg, Rosenheim, Bad Saulgau, Singwitz and our last show in Heilbronn, where I took the picture below:

Overall the shows were great, the people were amazing and the beer was some of the best in the world. We’re already planning our next trip across the pond.

After returning to The States we did a few shows, then took a 10-day break to visit our families for the holidays. Once Christmas was over, we all met up in Ketchum, Idaho for a pre New Years Eve gig at the local watering hole, Whiskey Jacques. After we had a hell of a good time there, we took the party on to Boise for the Big New Years Eve Show at Knitting Factory. The show that night was a lot of fun and it's always good to see familiar faces when ringing in the New Year.

From Boise we had a couple days off to get ready for the annual Steamboat MusicFest, which is a yearly highlight for most of us who go every January. It was our 6th trip; we’re honored to have gotten to attend so many times.

Currently MMC is touring fairly close to Austin TX, our home base, so we can rehearse for the new record. We’re planning on recording in late March/early April.
That’s about all we have to report at the moment but we’ll have lots of exciting news, tour date's and new merch when we get ready to release the new cd. Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you out on the road in the near future.

Whats up MMC fans?

I am sitting at my home in Austin working on stuff I should have gotten done a long time ago(ie this blog)..Lots has happened since the last blog I wrote over a year ago and so I will start off with a quick recap for those of you who have been out
of the loop.

We recorded and released our first ever Live cd and dvd combo at the historic Billy Bobs Texas,in the Fort-worth stockyards. The idea for a live cd dvd combo has been thrown around our camp here at MMC headquarters for a long time and we are glad we finally decided to follow through with all the talk and actually recorded the
darn thing.

Our tour schedule has grown alot over the past year bringing us further in every direction and continuing to help us expand our fan base.

We added a new member to our road crew this year which has been a big step in the right direction for us as a band allowing us to get our own monitors and have our own guy running sound every night. This might not seem like a big deal but after 8 years without a sound guy and a 1 man crew I will say I wish we would have made this move along time ago.

Well lets see.. I guess I will fill you in on what I know about our plans for 2010. Micky is in Nashville as we speak writing some songs and taking care of some big city stuff I wont bore you with.

As far as good time's we have a few show's on the books right now that are looking extra fun.

Micky and I are joining our buddies Stoney Larue,Blue Edmondson and Jason Boland for a fishing / music fest in Alaska followed by a outdoor concert on July 3rd in Fairfield, Idaho.

The July 3rd show will be with Reckless Kelly and George Devore. It will be titled
"The Sorry for Partyin Music Festival." Gauranteed to be a boot stompin good time. And of course the Annual Braun Brothers reunion and the Steamboat music fest never disappoint.

We hope to be back in the studio to start working on a new record soon but that will most likely not happen until summer is over. Basically folks thats the big picture in a nut shell we will do our best to keep you up to speed and I will try to blog more from the road as well encourage other band members to do the same.

Thanks for supporting the motorcars in all the ways that you do.

Gary Braun.
